摘要:
An inventory of beneficial insect species (parasites and predators) has been conducted in the central region of Saudi Arabia in an attempt to assess the role played by these biological control agents in this ‘oasis‐country”;. Over 91% of the total beneficial insects collected were found in four orders, Hymenoptera (44.7%), Coleoptera (25.5%), Diptera (10.6%) and Odonata (10.6%). The Hemiptera‐Heteroptera and Neuroptera each contributed only 4.3% of the total. The rich fauna is in keeping with the biological balance in the different agro‐ecosystems or closed ecosystems of both localities. The need is stressed for more collection and inventory research of these beneficial insects.
