SummaryWe report a case in which a high dose of ampicil lin was instituted for suspected meningitis in a pa tient with a medical history of penicillin skin rash. Within a few days an acute interstitial nephritis to gether with a Lyell’s syndrome occured. This pro bably unique association suggests similar pathoge netic mechanisms.
