ABSTRACTAny organization, especially a service organization, undergoes improvements if change can be shaped to enhance organizational growth. Following rapid turnover in staff as well as service directors, the Nurse—Midwifery Service at L.A. County—USC Medical Center—Women's Hospital experienced planned changes over a period of a year. By utilizing Weisbord's Six Box Model, analysis of the variables in the change process was outlined and identification of planned changes delineated for the midwifery service.
