This study compared three groups on the three global indices and nine symptom dimensions of the Brief Symptom Inventory (BSI): 54 alcoholic adult children of alcoholics (ACOA's), 32 alcoholic non-ACOA's, and 39 non-alcoholic ACOA's. The general hypothesis was that there would not be differences in the degree of symptoms reported between these groups. This hypothesis, in large measure, was supported, as only 2 dimensions of the BSI showed any differences.
