AbstractA double infiltration method using n-butyl alcohol in conjunction with celloidin and paraplast plus (BCPP) is described. Serial sections cut at 4 microns thick of heavily sclerotized insect cuticle fixed with alcoholic Bouin's fluid are easily obtained. The architecture of the cuticle and the morphology of the underlying tissue show little distortion and excellent staining.
