The International Conference on Rehabilitation Engineering held in Toronto in June last year was the first annual conference of the recently formed Rehabilitation Engineering Society of North America. This report by Nigel Ring discusses some of the topics raised at the conference and compares the North American approach to rehabilitation engineering with that in the UK.
