AbstractThe stellar energy loss rate due to the production of neutrino pairs by Bremsstrahlung is calculated for neutron stars in the presence of a strong magnetic field (B⩽ 1012G) and the Coulomb field of the positive ions. The calculated energy loss rates are applied to nonrelativistic electrons at low densities ⩽ 105gm/cm3and relatively low temperaturesT⩽
