摘要:

This is the report on a study on the measurement of RaD and RaF contents in tooth in order to estimate the levels of these isotopes in bone. The RaD concentration was determined on the basis of RaF measurements by the silver plating method. The bone and teeth samples were obtained from autopsy of 18 unexposed children (9 boys and 9 girls), aged 0 — 13 years, residents of Budapest. Regression analysis was carried out to estimate the skeletal RaD and RaF contents from tooth measurements. The calculations showed that the estimation of skeletal RaD contents from tooth measurements is not feasible because of large error margins, in contrast to RaF contents which can be estimated within approximately ±50% error margin for the 0.9 confidence interval. According to our results, the total skeletal RaD and RaF concentration in the age interval from 1 to 13 years showed an increase by approximately one factor of ten; in case of RaD – from 17 to 161 pCi and in case of RaF – from 15 – 163 pCi.
