SUMMARY1. Some observations on the oecology of various fishes which live in forest waters of several types in British Guiana are given. These observations are mainly concerned with the respiratory adaptations of the fishes.2. An account is given of the structure and blood supply of the accessory respiratory organs of the electric eel,Electrophorus electricus(Linn.), andPlecostomus plecostomus(Linn.).
