In the summer of 1959, AB Elektrisk Malmletning (THE ABEM COMPANY), Stockholm, under contract to Nordisk Mineselskab A/S, Copenhagen, carried out a seismic investigation on Schuchert and Arcturus Gletschrar at Erzberg. The area surveyed lies about 20 km. south-west of Mesters Vig, Kong Oscars Fjord, East Greenland, and the purpose of the survey was to determine the thickness of the ice-moraine layer in each of the above glaciers.
