Two-photon Excitation in Tetraphene (Organic) and Dypiridinium Thallium (III) Penta Chloride (Organo-metallic)

摘要:

Two new samples are studied by a two-photon absorption process using ruby laser irradiations in ordinary mode. The loss of energy through electronic vibrational coupling to the lattice is about 6177 cm−1in tetraphene. This is about 7625 cm−1in dypiridinium thallium pentachloride, which suggests that in this sample there is a small radiationless deactivation loss besides the electronic vibrational loss. The threshold energy required for the excitation of the above process in an organo-metallic sample is two and a half times more than that in an organic sample.
