Arthroscopy is gaining increasing popularity in treating disorders about the shoulder. A working knowledge of the surgical anatomy of both the shoulder joint and the subacromial bursa is essential when performing these types of procedures. This article discusses the anatomy of the shoulder, both on the surface and as it would appear when visualized through an arthroscope.
