In the program of the Committee on Viscosity Standards recently published in THISJOURNAL, the various points of view are presented which must be considered in carrying out exact measurements of viscosity. This summary is very welcome, all the more since confused statements concerning the meaning and the application of the two corrections, named after Hagenbach and Couette, are often encountered in the literature.
