AbstractOn the 23 January 1987, Joseph Needham FRS, FBA and Horonary Fellow of the International Science Policy Foundation was presented with the Foundation's Medal for his outstanding contribution to the international understanding of science. This is an appreciation of Joseph Needham given on that occasion by Dr Maurice Goldsmith.
