摘要:
AbstractAn investigation of the utilization of the sulphur content of byproduct ferrous sulphide from the hydrogenation of pyrites, is described. The reaction of ferrous sulphide with steam or sulphur dioxide to produce hydrogen sulphide or sulphur is considered to be impracticable. It is shown that the exothermic combustion of ferrous sulphide yields sulphur dioxide in concentrations suitable for sulphuric acid manufacture cither by Chamber or Contact processes. It is at least as easy to burn the ferrous sulphide, obtained as in Part I of this paper, in a small‐scale burner of the hand‐fired type, as it is to burn pyri
