摘要:
The efficacy in the field of a synthetic pyrethroid pour‐on formulation (Ectopor) was tested against species of ticks which infest camels in Kenya. The acaricide provided an excellent percentage tick control which slowly waned from 99% on the third day post‐treatment to 70%, 51 days post‐treatment. The residual protection was 11 days. The percentage of dead but attached ticks decreased from 55.88% on day 1 post‐treatment to 3.61% on day 16 post‐treatment. The ticks found to infest the camels at the experimental site wereRhipicephalus pulchellus, Amblyomma variegatum, Hyalomma truncatum, Rhipicephalus evertsiandRhipicephalus appendiculatus.
