摘要:
AbstractSince 1977,The Star Almanac for Land Surveyorshas contained monthly sets of polynomial coefficients as an alternative to the main tabulation of sun and sidereal time data. The choice of Chebyshev polynomials, converted into simple polynomials, was considered to be convenient considering the number of coefficients required to be stored and the amount of calculation required of a person using a PPC (Acronym for programmable pocket calculator). A description of the construction and accuracy of these polynomials has been given by Sinclair (1975). Considering the advances which have been made in PPC technology, an alternative to the same main tabulation of The Star Almanac for Land Surveyors, based mainly on Fourier series valid for a year is advocated.
