SummaryAn endemic of syringe transmitted jaundice is studied.The complaints of the patients in the prodromal stage were the same, although less pronounced, as in infectious hepatitis. Fever was a rare symptom.During the icteric stage tests of hepatic functions showed identical results as in infectious hepatitis. Thymol turbidity was in most patients definitely elevated. A high zinc sulfate reaction (Kunkel) persisted long after other hepatic tests were normal. All cases were benign except one that continued as a chronic form of hepatitis with hepatic siderosis.
