SummaryUltrasonography of the normal pancreas has been performed in supine, prone and erect position in 50 young adults. In 39 cases, there was a better visualization in erect position.In supine position head, body and tail of the pancreas could be visualized in 39, 30 en 7 cases respectively.In erect position these figures raised to 49, 49 and 26. In prone position the tail of the pancreas could only be visualized in 20 cases.The mean antero-posterior diameter of the head, the body and the tail of the pancreas measured 20, 14 and 17 mm respectively.
