Throughout its history, nursing has used a variety of measures to promote and maintain skin integrity. Air-fluidized therapy has been found to be successful in decreasing the number of problems associated with the integementary system by its ability to heal open skin areas rapidly and in a safe manner. For the pediatric nurse, this form of therapy is becoming recognized as an adjunct to care.
