Suppose G is a torsion-free abelian group of finite rank which is quasi-isomorphic to G1⊕…⊕Gkwith each Gistrongly indecomposable. Call G rigid if Hom(Gi,Gj) = 0 for all i≠j. If A1,…,Anare nonzero subgroups of the additive group of rational numbers, G[A1,…,An] denotes the cokernel of the diagonal map ⋂Ai→⊕AiIn this paper, a study of rigid groups of the form G[A1,…,An] is initiated
