摘要:
SummaryThe clinical and bacteriological features of the gonococcal arthritis-dermatitis syndrome in two males are discussed. Typical skin lesions provided the clue for diagnosis. There were neither signs nor symptoms of urethritis in both men, althoughNeisseria gonorrhoeaewas isolated from the urethra in one case. Infection followed oro-genital contact in both cases. Gonococci were cultured from the throat in both patients and from the blood in one case. The isolates of both patients were highly susceptible to penicillin.Characteristics of this syndrome are discussed, together with recent aspects of its pathogenesis.
