摘要:
In the summer of 1956 a fragment of a mammoth tusk was discovered at Rättvik in Dalecarlia, Central Sweden (Text-fig. 1). It lay somewhere in the upper 2.5 m of the ground moraine which is almost 30 m thick in the neighbourhood of the finding place. The piece is 35 cm long, and the circumference at its ends is 22.5 and 19.5 cm, respectively. Very likely it is a part of a comparatively small tusk of approximately the same size as that described by Heintz (1956) from Skreia, S. Norway, and thus belonged to a female.
