In 1962–63 a population study was made of a ten acre area of Dry Heath in the Sydney district. The nature of the study was such as to preclude production of any conclusive data. Nevertheless such results as were achieved amply prove the value of concentrated studies of particular areas. Some results of the count are published, along with observations made of particular species. A plea is made for greater interest by R.A.O.U. members in this aspect of bird study.
