N. P. Angelin not only was aware of the fact that the beyrichiacean ostracodes are dimorphic; he also realized before anybody else that theBattusspecies described by Beyrich and himself are ostracodes. He introduced, without a description, the nameBattus Kloedenifor an “ostrapod n. g.” in 1838—1839.
