AbstractThe conformational equilibrium intrans‐2‐bromo‐ andtrans‐2‐chloro‐cyclohexanol has been studied with the aid of dipole moments, NMR, IR and Raman spectroscopy. The physical properties of the individual conformers are obtained from the suitably biased 4‐ or 5‐t‐butyl derivatives. The diequatorial form appears to predominate strongly in solution.
