Algebraic algorithms are presented which may be used to obtain the bounds of the feedback gains K of a discrete-time feedback system for root clustering in subregions of a unit circle in the Z plane. The design method, which is simple and straightforward, is robust in the sense that characteristic values are designed to cluster inside the desired subregion, even though the parameters vary within a given interval. Examples are included for illustration.
