Establishing a consistent code for pacemaker function assists the nurse in comparing the intendedversusactual pacemaker function. This article describes how to use the Inter-Society Commission for Heart Disease Resources code in the assessment of pacemaker function. The following article applies this code specifically to the dual-chambered pacemaker.
