A possible role for chlorogenic acid in calcium‐related disorders of vegetable crops with particular reference to lettuce tipburn

摘要:
The chlorogenic acid contents of 7 lettuce cultivars were measured at six stages of growth. At maturity, the cultivars were assessed for incidence of tipburn. At all stages of growth, chlorogenic acid content differed significantly between some cultivars, but not between others. With increasing plant size chlorogenic acid concentration decreased and at all growth stages tested, it was positively correlated with the incidence of tipburn at maturity.
