The relation of pressure to flow was studied in renal perfusion experiments employing oligocythemic blood and artificial perfusates which contained no blood corpuscles. The results indicate that renal circulatory autoregulation is not unique for blood and that the basic cause of renal autoregulation is a myogenic reaction to altered transmural pressure which is apparently not unique to the kidney.
