The paper describes the effect 24 hours of action of laurylalcohol upon cell division in roots ofVicia faba. Simultaneously reversibility after 12 hours of action was observed. The results of cytological studies indicate that:1.The mitotic indices are reversely proportional to the duration of the treatment with laurylalcohol.2.Laurylalcohol causes the formation of various mitotic cytomixis and chromosomal disturbances (aberrations) of which the formation of micronuclei is most characteristic.
