AbstractThis“International Symnposium on Electro-magnetic Distance Measurement and the influence of Atmospheric Refraction”was held at Wageningen, the Netherlands, from 23 to 27 May 1977. It was sponsored by the I.A.G. (S.S.G. 1.42) and hosted by the Netherlands Geodetic Commission and the Agricultural University of Wageningen whilst actually held on the premises of the International Agricultural Centre (I.A.C.). The convenor, responsible for the programme and for co-ordinating the administrative organisation, was Dr. Peter Richardus of the Department of Surveying and Photogrammetry in the University. The I.A.C. proved a suitable venue with good meeting facilities etc; most, but not all, the delegates were accommodated on the premises and the restaurant facilities were available to all.
