摘要:

This article describes an exercise in applied mathematics which may be useful for teaching mathematics at senior secondary school or tertiary level. The exercise utilizes a number of skills from plane geometry, trigonometry and elementary calculus. Some comments on classroom use and student reaction to the study are included.
