Two examples of ectopic tubal epithelium in the pelvic peritoneum are described and illustrated. One was in association with bilateral ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma and the other with endometriosis. The several theories of the pathogenesis of endosalpingiosis are reviewed, but the one involving metaplasia of the multipotential peritoneal cells is presented as the most acceptable.
