摘要:
The emergence of resistant bacteria as a result of mutation and clonal reproduction under selective pressure by antibiotics is only part of this major problem. The article focuses on resistance that results from“sexual mating”in which resistance genes can be transmitted to antibiotic-sensitive organisms. This mechanism operates both within and between species, e.g., Haemophilus and Neisseria.
