Electric dipole moments provide a relatively unexpensive yet powerful tool of searching for new physics beyond the Standard Model. I discuss current problems in calculations of EDMs, mainly related to the strong interactions effects at the transition from the quark-gluon to hadronic description. These problems become especially important in the case of supersymmetric models whith several CP-violating phases, so that all existing experimental limits need to be used in order to extract reliable constraints on these phases. ©2000 American Institute of Physics.
