AbstractIn 1975, rape, child sexual abuse, and domestic violence were viewed as isolated misfortunes. The voice of The Julian Center, a small women's agency in the heartland of America, was rarely heard, and the center's future did not appear promising. Since then, the situation has changed dramatically; by January 1992, the center was thriving financially, growing, and, due to the Tyson rape trial, receiving international media attention.
