The beautiful and spacious campus of the University of California at Berkeley will be a gathering place for geophysicists from all over the world late this summer as the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics convenes for its Thirteenth General Assembly from August 19 to 31. The scientific community of the United States is pleased and proud to serve as host to this distinguished gathering of several thousand delegates, guests, and associates from the more than three‐score member nations of the IUGG and the many nonmember countries that will be sending observer
