1.p-Nitrophenoxyacetylene readily polymerizes; it easily undergoes thermally initiated copolymerization with phenylacetylene.2.Thermal polymerization of the aryloxyacetylenes is through a radical mechanism.3.NO2groups stabilize the free radicals formed in reaction.
