AbstractAn carlier thermo‐analytical study of black powder using TG, and DSC, has been extended to examine the combustion products of black powder by FTIR emission spectroscopy. The analysis of FTIR spectra shows the presence of CO2as major product in gaseous form, and K2SO4as major solid product.
