With an ever increasing number of outpatient surgeries and surgical procedures, it seems reasonable to ask a common question, once again.Should we use regional or general anesthesia? This question is posed in books and at numerous postgraduate courses—usually with little in the way of an answer. The question was rephrased, and biased anesthesiologists were asked to comment as to why regional anesthesia should be used in outpatients. The spectrum of children to adults has been addressed, and I believe the reader will find these opines useful.
