摘要:

Lamotrigine is one of a wave of new antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) that has expanded the therapeutic choices available to clinicians during the last few years. Clinical trials and experience have shown it to be useful in a wide range of patients (adults and children) with different forms of epilepsy. The commonest adverse effect associated with lamotrigine therapy is rash. Most frequently, this is a simple morbilliform rash, but more severe life-threatening forms have been reported. Several presentations at the American Epilepsy Society Annual Meeting [Boston, US; December 1997] focused on the occurrence of rash with lamotrigine therapy in adults and children with epilepsy.
