This paper studies imprimitive groupsGhaving a finite numbernk(G) of orbits onk‐sets for allk. The main results are a formula fornk(GWrH) in terms ofnk(G) and a ‘modified cycle index’ ofH, and relations between the growth rate of (nk(G)) and the structure of primitive components ofG.
