AbstractThe writer describes a test measurement of a base 240 metres long, using a modified differential technique, in which the agreement with the catenary measurement by the Ordnance Survey was 2 mm. The method is advocated for accurate measurement, and as a routine field procedure to check the calibration and delay line tables of a particular instrument.
