摘要:

It is noted that a simple form of the method utilized by Lauraetal., ‘‘A modification of the Galerkin method and the solution of the Helmholtz equation in regions of complicated boundary shape’’ [J. Acoust. Soc. Am.77, 1960–1962 (1985)] has already appeared in Rayleigh’s classical treatise on the theory of sound [J. W. S. Rayleigh,TheTheoryofSound, Vol. I (Dover, New York, 1945)].
