In addition to the study onDryopteris pentheri, which is included in the second part (in press) of the author's contribution to the knowledge of the pteridophytes of Rwanda, Burundi and Kivu, it is pointed out that R.B. Faden in his account of the pteridophytes of the Upland Kenya misapplied the binomialDryopteris pentherito a species sharply different from the trueDryopteris pentheri.It turned out to be a new species which is described here with the name ofDryopteris fadenii.
