A Philbrick model 1702 parametric amplifier has been used as an input device for the measurement of mass spectrometer ion currents. The results obtained have been comparable with those obtained by other methods, although the cost is very modest. Combined with an Analogic AN‐2544 ratio meter, it has been used to make an economical ratio recording system for oxygen isotopic analysis.
