摘要:

IntroductionThe importance of weak hydrogen bonds in the context of crystal engineering, molecular recognition and supramolecular chemistry has been well recognized in recent years.1–3Also, these secondary interactions have ramifications in the systematic design of new materials possessing novel chemical, magnetic, optical or electronic properties.2,3Such studies are still in their infancy with respect to heavier main group compounds involving Groups 14 and 15. Recently, Bailey, Wright and coworkers have shown the formation of a helical network through conventional N–H⋯N hydrogen bonding in the antimony(iii) complex [Sb{(PriN)2CNHPri}{(PriN)2CNPri}].4In order to explore the possibility of the existence and influence of weak hydrogen bonds in organoantimony compounds we have synthesised [Ph2SbCl{S2C2(CN)2}]1, which provides a platform for several such interactions. In accordance with our expectations the Xray structure of1reveals four types of secondary interactions, which are unprecedented for this class of compounds, leading to the formation of a supramolecular zig-zag polymeric network in the solid state.
