In the Dragon reactor, the fuel-element-handling machine is built into the primarycoolant circuit. The mechanism must be protected by clutches set to slip at given torques, and the operational requirements have led to the choice of the hysteresistype clutch. Mr. Young is with the Sperry Gyroscope Co.
