摘要:

A relation is derived predicting a&tgr;cz2/3B10/3Wi−1variation of ion density for onset of an ion‐cyclotron instability in a mirror‐confined plasma. This threshold behavior may explain why no complete density limitation has been observed in strongly unstable plasmas of two relevant experiments.
